Tuesday, 26 February 2019

Ripe”.
Ripe
-My brother picked the mangos from the tree before they were ripe.
-The apples are ripe.

Unripe”.
Unripe
-The unripe bananas are firm and bitter in taste.
-People have claimed that unripe bananas are more nutritious.

Overripe”.
Overripe
-It is hard to tell if an avocado is overripe from the outside.
-Bananas are soft and pale brown inside when they are overripe.

“Go off/go bad”
-The oranges have gone off/gone bad, so I threw them away.
-If the apples are mushy, and juice is oozing from them, they have gone off/gone bad.

“Rot”
-Too much sugar will rot your teeth.
-It is said that one rotten apple will spoil the whole bunch.

“Bruise”
-Don’t drop the apples as they bruise easily.
-The apples are well packed to avoid bruising.

“Mouldy(英式)/moldy(美式)”
-Some fruits go mouldy/moldy very quickly.
-Fruits that have gone mouldy/moldy are no longer safe to eat.
