If you guessed "English", you are right! No one is quite sure how this phrase entered the English language. One theory is that it's a translation from Chinese that entered English via Shanghai in the 1920's. Alternatively, it may have been a Native American usage.

Anyway, "long time no see" is a commonly used expression in English!
