Word of the Day

I'm painful”?

Saturday, 25 May 2019

“My leg is painful. ” or “I am very painful now.

Painful (adj.)
- It’s such a painful experience.
- That was the most painful decision I have ever made.

Hurt (v.)
- Can I take a seat? My leg really hurts.
- Let go of my hand. It hurts.

Be in pain
- My leg is in a lot of pain. Please send me to the hospital.
- Her husband passed away a month ago. She is in great pain.

Idiom:
Pain in the neck
= Pain in the ass/Pain in the butt
- My little sister is a real pain in the neck.
- My roommate is a pain in the neck, he plays music loudly and party till midnight every day.
